West Suffolk CBT Service workforce policies, strategies, processes and practices

West Suffolk CBT Service workforce policies, strategies, processes and practices.

The West Suffolk CBT Service’s workforce polices, strategies, processes and practices comply with all relevant employment legislation applicable in the UK and follow guidelines as set out in ‘Safer Recruitment and Employment – a guide for NHS employers’. To accommodate the aforementioned the West Suffolk CBT Service has an anti-discrimination policy (please examples of workforce policy documents attached). The West Suffolk CBT Service has a detailed set of procedures to accompany all of its policies. Where due to its small size the West Suffolk CBT Service is unable to implement procedures itself, expert assistance from external HR and Occupation Health Services are purchased**. In order to create a further failsafe system will regard to employment law and its correct implementation (with regard to procedures) advice from external agencies and consultants is purchased.

With regard to the employment of individuals by the West Suffolk CBT Service, procedures are in place to a) check the identity of applicants, b) assess applicants right to work in the UK, c) make background checks about professional registration/qualifications, d) take employment history, e) take references, f) make enhanced CRB checks and g) * make occupational health checks (*via an external agency). All checks that are carried out and information that is stored thereafter comply within the remit of the Data Protection Act. Information that is collected is no more than the minimum required to assist Directors in making recruitment decisions.  Although the West Suffolk CBT Service is not registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), it nevertheless follows the remit and spirit of CQC policy and its expectations. Implementation of procedures are audited on a six monthly basis by the Managing Director of the West Suffolk CBT Service.

** External agencies that are utilised to assist the West Suffolk CBT Service will be assessed  to ensure that they are compliant with current employment law.
